PHILADELPHIA, PA (June 15, 2004) - A funeral service for Bjørn Anders Loufman Heen was held Monday, June 14 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, North Easton Avenue at Mt. Carmel Avenue in Glenside, PA.

Bjørn, the 3-year-old son of Seminary Professor Erik M. Heen and Dianne O. Loufman, died late Tuesday afternoon, June 8, as the result of what police described as a tragic backyard playtime accident.

Cards of sympathy may be addressed to the family at the seminary at 7301 Germantown Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19119. The seminary and family are deeply appreciative of many expressions of sympathy and consolation.

"We are in shock and devastated as a seminary community as a result of this terrible accident," said Seminary President Philip D. W. Krey. "And we cry out of the depths to the God of mercy in Christ and with Erik, Dianne, Kai and Per and all of their loved ones."
